This photo struck me as not so much a narrative piece but rather one that links us to the past. It shows the innocence of youth and yet the lack there of, shown by this little girl smoking a cigarette. I enjoyed this photo also because of its compositon. The dark and light contrast between the black background and the girls white dress is very appealing to the eye but also tells a story or conveys a message within itself. Figuring out what this message is however, is something that is unique to who is percieving it.
